All experience levels are welcome to join.
We offer a variety of courses, from multi-week programs to short, focused workshops that cover a single topic in just a few hours.

Upon completing the program, we hope to provide opportunities for you to put your new skills to work — whether for personal enjoyment, freelance work, or even potential collaboration with us.

We also offer special sessions for those interested in starting their own brand, sharing our experience in both Made-in-Hawaii and overseas production.

    This beginner-friendly sewing school is your first step toward a career in Hawaii’s unique fashion industry.
    We offer hands-on training with real Hawaiian dresses taught by professionals from the renowned Princess Kaiulani Fashions.

About the Program – Why We Started This School

Many people have asked us,
“I want to start my own clothing brand. Will this course help?”

The answer is: Absolutely.

At Princess Kaiulani Fashions, we’ve built our brand from the ground up — from heritage-inspired gowns to launching new casual lines.
We've experienced the challenges of making clothes right here in Hawaii, and we've also worked with overseas production.
We understand the realities, the costs, the creativity, and the cultural value of making fashion in Hawaii.

Over the years, we’ve received many inquiries from aspiring designers who want to launch their own brands — but we noticed something important:
Most of them didn’t have any sewing or garment construction experience.

This is why we started this program.

We believe that knowing how clothes are made — with your own hands — is the most powerful way to build a meaningful, sustainable brand.
This program is your first step. And in the near future, we plan to launch special sessions focused on fashion brand development and production in Hawaii.

✺ Frequently asked questions ✺

  • There will be 2 locations in Waikiki.

    One is inside the Waikiki Shopping Plaza, and another location is inside the Waikiki Business Plaza.

  • The class starts at 5:00pm on weekday. For little more advanced calss, we will offer weekend calss for longer session.

  • We offer you one 10 hour validation for weekend class.

  • Yes — having basic sewing knowledge gives you a huge advantage.

    When you understand how garments are made, you can:

    • Better communicate with your production team

    • Make smarter decisions on pricing and labor costs

    • Choose fabrics and designs that actually work before facing expensive production mistakes

    Even if you don’t plan to sew everything yourself, this hands-on knowledge helps you avoid costly missteps and gives you more control over your brand.
